When you think of the willow tree, what comes to mind? Its branches droop downward, creating a sense of sadness or fragility. This is a fitting image for the emotional state of someone with a broken heart. The Bach Flower Remedy Willow is here to help us when we're feeling down, especially during those challenging times of heartache.

A lush green weeping willow overhangs a serene pond surrounded by trees with vibrant foliage, creating a peaceful, natural scene.

Everyone experiences heartbreak differently, but one thing is universal: the emotional rollercoaster that follows. Healing from a broken heart can be a lengthy and unpredictable journey, with many ups and downs. The path to emotional recovery often requires us to process a wide range of feelings before we can return to our joyful selves.

When should you consider Willow for a broken heart?

Dr. Bach wrote: "…They feel that they have not deserved so great a trial, that it was unjust, and they become embittered…"**

A broken heart can certainly leave us with a lingering bitterness, as though life has dealt us an unfair hand. Here are some questions for you:

  • Do you struggle to forgive the person who hurt you?

  • Do you feel as though you didn’t deserve the pain you've experienced?

  • Do you catch yourself thinking, “Why me?”

  • Are you comparing yourself to others who seem happy, wondering why you can’t feel the same way?

  • Do you regret the choices you made or the things you said?

  • Do you often cry, whether it’s triggered by thoughts of the situation or seemingly out of nowhere?

  • Do you harbor resentment, either toward the person who caused the heartbreak or life in general?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, Willow may be a remedy to consider for healing your heart.

The Healing Power of Willow

Willow’s positive healing energy helps us to forgive and forget, enabling us to release negative emotions like bitterness, resentment, and regret. It restores our optimism,  reminds us of the good things we have in our life so that we can embrace life again with renewed joy.

When we forgive, we let go of the emotional burdens that keep us trapped in pain. This release frees us to live and love fully, without being weighed down by the past.

Why Bach Flower Remedies Are Special

What makes Bach Flower Essences unique is that, unlike traditional medications, they don’t numb or suppress emotions. Instead, they gently yet powerfully dissolve the emotional wounds at the root of our suffering. They guide us through a process of healing, helping us gain clarity and emotional freedom, especially during difficult times like heartbreak.

Having used these remedies for over 30 years, I can personally attest to their effectiveness. I've witnessed their transformative power not only in the lives of my clients, family, and friends, but also in my own journey. This firsthand experience is what truly convinces me of the remarkable healing potential of these remedies.

If you're struggling with the pain of a broken heart, consider giving Willow a try. You deserve to feel whole and happy again.

How Do I Take Willow?

There are several ways you can incorporate Willow into your routine:

  • Directly in Your mouth: Place 2 drops directly in your mouth. Repeat if necessary (there is no risk of overdose with these flower essences).

  • In Water: Add 2 drops of Star of Bethlehem to a glass of water (or any drink of your choice) and sip throughout the day. This is a gentler method that helps the remedy work over a longer period, supporting your emotional balance as you process your feelings. Some of my clients like to add their drops to a water bottle they carry with them throughout the day, ensuring they get a consistent dosage.

  • Create a Personalized Remedy Mix: You can combine Willow with other remedies that address your unique broken heart emotional state. For example: Sweet Chestnut for despair or hopelessness., Mimulus for fear about the future, Star of Bethlehem for shock and grief. You can combine up to 7 remedies in a 30ml dropper bottle with spring water ( put 2 drops for each remedy ), taking 4 drops several times a day. You can also add a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar or vegetable glycerin as a preservative. This blend should last around three weeks.

  • Add to a Bath; For an extra dose of emotional soothing, add a few drops of Willow to your bath. This is a lovely way to incorporate the remedy into your self-care routine, allowing the flower essence to work while you relax and unwind.
