As we experience another long California heat wave with scorching, record-breaking temperatures, I am supporting myself and my dear ones with the Bach Flower Remedies.

Yes indeed, since the Bach Flower Remedies are meant to help us keep balanced and healthy through life's experiences, and I think there is a real need to let everyone know how great and helpful these remedies are in today’s everyday life circumstances, I thought of sharing a few tips to help you navigate these hot days with more resilience and a lighter heart.

Here are four Bach Flower Remedies to help you stay cool, calm, and centered when temperatures soar, so you can beat the heat

1. Olive: For Heat-Induced Exhaustion and Fatigue

  • How Olive helps: This is the remedy for exhaustion after physical and mental strain, and it is a great ally to support our energies when the heat makes it difficult to get a proper, sufficient, truly restoring sleep.

2. Walnut: For Climate Transitions and Adaptation

  • How Walnut helps: The remedy to support us during times of transition. It helps us stay consistent and true to ourselves during changes without being influenced by other people’s ideas. By extension, it helps us in times of life changes (puberty, motherhood, menopause, moving houses, changing jobs): it helps us adapt while staying ourselves. It is a great support to adapt to this unfriendly climate.

  • Bonus Tip: It works wonderfully for the same reason on plants, too! (Add 4 Bach Flower Remedy drops into a spray bottle to spray the leaves). You can read more about the Bach Flower Remedies and Gardening in this previous post.

3. Centaury: For Strengthening Inner Boundaries

  • How Centaury helps: In the same emotional group as Walnut - "oversensitive to influences or ideas" - it is meant to set healthy boundaries with people and help strengthen us as well. Dr. Bach used it to help children who appeared very weak, as reported in Nora Weeks' (his assistant) book, The Medical Discoveries of Edward Bach, Physician. The book is another great source of clear and useful insights on how Dr. Bach intended the Bach Flower Remedies to be used.

4. Impatiens: For Calming Heat-Related Irritability

  • How Impatiens helps: Heat often makes us accelerate, become impatient, and find it hard to slow down and breathe. When this happens, Impatiens is the right support to slow down and relax.

Here are the simple instructions on how to take the remedies, they are very easy to incorporate into your every day routine!
